Well, we have been working hard to get our shopping cart system improved and we finally found the solution. We have teamed up with ViaDerby.com and they will be taking care of our fulfillment and order processing. With Via, you can pay by paypal or credit card, and your order ships immediately. This new shopping cart goes into effect this week and we can't be any more excited about it.

Via has been processing our orders for our sister magazine, Blood & Thunder, and things have been very successful with that, it's only natural to have them do Shimmy as well. Via is your one stop shop for all things roller derby. The company is owned and operated by derby skaters and is based out of Los Angeles, CA.

We're heading off to Vegas for the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender. For the second year in a row, Shimmy is hosting Viva's burlesque contest. All participants receive a subscription, and the winner will have an article in our 2008 annual issue. Fun!

Robin is putting the finishing touches on the last magazine-format issue, so hang in there! There are still some room for ads, so if you or someone you know wants to place an ad in this next Shimmy, email robin@shimmymagazine.com

Hey, where has Shimmy been? Well, we did take a bit of a break. But we are again working hard to get this next issue of Shimmy out and its scheduled to arrive this Summer. Find us at this year's Tease-o-rama in San Francisco. We will have a booth in the lobby with magazines and some merch. Also, you may have noticed that we have been a bit quiet lately. Well, we took the summer off, but we are back! Our next issue will be the Summer 2008 issue and it will be available in stores. Don't worry, if you have a subscription, you will not miss any issues. We've recuperated from the miss exotic world pageant, held this past weekend in fabulous las vegas. And what an amazing weekend it was! Saturday night's performances were out of this world, and the legends were legendary, as usual!
Congratulations to all the winners and to luke, laura, and the rest of the organizers for pulling it off! Thanks to everyone who stopped by the booth... it was nice to see familiar faces and meet new people! We're looking forward to seeing everyone again at the nybf in september and Tease-o-Rama in San Francisco in October!
Dale is relocating to Seattle, home of many amazing burlesque performers. Don't worry, though, we'll still be featuring burlesque from across the country and around the world! And with the magazine's bigger format, we're able to include more content, so be on the look-out for profiles on international performers, fashion spreads, a "miscellaneous" photo section, and more!

So much has been going on in Shimmy-land, and we apologize for being remiss in keeping you abreast!
The big news (literally!) is that with Issue #5, Shimmy's one-year anniversary issue, its size was increased to that of a "normal" magazine. This makes us able to sell Shimmy more easily at newsstands across the country! Everyone (including us!) loved the old, pocket-sized size, so we're hoping to do an annual pictorial issue that'll fit in your pockets and purses!
We were very honored to be able to co-sponsor the Viva Las Vegas Burlesque Contest in April, and our heartfelt congratulations go out to La Cholita, Miss Viva Las Vegas 2007! As winner of the contest, she will be gracing the cover of a future issue of Shimmy.
We're also looking forward to the Miss Exotic World Pageant, so find us there and say "hello!"
